Meet Angel, a young girl who lives up to her name. Angel is a mere four years old, full of life and love.  Unfortunately, being as energetic as she is Angel has torn both her ACL's (Anterior Cruciate Ligament's).

Now, there are all different ideas and opinions of what one should do with their dog in such a situation with many factor's involved with the decision. I.e. age of the dog; other medical conditions; cost; other family financial needs; etc..  Angel's family love her and they made the decision that works for them. They did a lot of research and discovered that braces were available for dogs just like for people. Molds were made and sent to California (I believe they said) and voila! One year later and Angel is still enjoying life complete with trips to the off leash park and her loving family.

I only met Angel and her family today. I found her story very inspiring and I thank them for letting me share it. I do so not to invite opinions on their choice of treatment but to applaud them on thinking outside the box. They to want to spread the word that there are options out there, sometimes it just takes some work researching.  I hope to meet you again soon Angel.

The braces were the best decision ever and I'm so happy u chose to share her story. Hopefully one day other animal owners can help introduce this more to the community. Saves so much money n pain.

"I attended the March 06, 2021 K9ABCs first aid course run by Laurie. Excellent presentation of the material - Laurie is an amazing teacher combining the book material with personal experience both as a paramedic and as a dog lover. What stood out for me was the dog 'Annie': a rubber dog to practice all the handling skills needed for an emergency - CPR, assisted breathing, pulse check. Class was run in a highly professional manner with love an care for animals exuding at all times. All of it with COVID restrictions in place and well observed. Thank you Laurie, I'll be back for refreshers when time comes." Violeta Toma, 2021
